Error codes
HTTP status codes returned by the marketplace gateway and whether each one is charged.

| 402 payment_required | Payment needed; terms in accepts[] and PAYMENT-REQUIRED header | No |
| 402 "Free calls used up" | Free tier exhausted (per identity or site-wide daily budget); price included | No |
| 402 with hint | Unpaid call missing required params; hint.required_params and hint.example_url | No |
| 400 missing_required_parameters | Paid call with missing params; payment verified but not settled | No |
| 502 upstream_error | Upstream failed or returned an error payload; not settled | No |
| 429 | Upstream rate limit passed through; retry with backoff | No |
| 405 method_not_allowed | Only GET, HEAD and OPTIONS are accepted | No |
| 503 sandbox_not_configured | Sandbox only: no testnet receiving wallet configured | No |
| 200 | Success; paid calls carry PAYMENT-RESPONSE | Yes, if paid |
